(QCOSTARICA SPORTS) – After a flawless first half, La Seleccion got sloppy, the defence failed and the Mexicans tied a game they had dominated. At least they didn’t lose.
That is, in a few words, the recap of the friendly played between Costa Rica and Mexico at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida on Saturday.
From the opening goal, the national team seemed unbeatable. Two mistakes cost them goals, as they saw their opponent wake up and ruin what seemed a perfect end to a losing streak.
La Sele, who lost to Panama (2-1), Colombia (1-0) and Spain (2-1) in their duels in exhibition games, head into the CONCACAF Copa Oro 2015 (Gold Cup’15) at the top of Group B, facing El Salvador, Jamaica and Canada.
The first game is on July 8 against Jamaica at the Stubhub Center in Los Angeles, California.
Competing in the Copa Oro are the U.S., Panama, Haiti and Honduras in Group A, and Mexico, Trinidad & Tobago, Guatemala and Cuba in Group C.
The final game is scheduled for Sunday, July 26, at Lincoln Financial Field, in Philadelphia, PA.
