New scam, beware!

Scammers try to trick drivers of badly parked vehicles

RICO’s Q: One of our readers at Q has shared this new scam: A sticker is left on your vehicle for “bad parking”.

The notice states that you parked badly, and have incurred a traffic violation. Once you scan the QR code with your cell phone, it can send you to a malicious website and including clone your cellular phone.

Be careful.

It is important to be cautious because the Traffic Police or local municipal police do not use stickers to penalize ‘badly” parked vehicles.

A citation is given to vehicles that are parked illegally, but never are stickers are placed on windshields.
