COSTA RICA NEWS – Costa Rica expanded the “tourist” visa period for Nicaraguans from 30 days to 90 days.

The notice in La Gaceta (DG-0022-08-2014), dated August 27, says “the periof of legal permenancy for people of the Republic of Nicaragua will be up to 90 calendar days.”  (Imprenta Nacional bulletin)

The measure takes effect 8 days after publication, September 3, 2014.

The cost of the consular service fee remains at US$32 for Nicaraguans who want to visit Costa Rica.

According to Enlaces Nicaraguences in Managua, the added visa period will benefit Nicaraguans looking for work in Costa Rica, as well as tourists visiting the country.
