Super gasoline will increase ȼ11 and regular ȼ21

Price hike is due to the impact of international prices

QCOSTARICA — The regulatory authority has approved the latest request by the Refinadora Costarricense del Petróleo (RECOPE) – Costa Rica’s refinery that refines nothing – increasing the price of a liter of super gasoline ȼ11 and regular ȼ21.

Diesel fuel will increase by ȼ22 colones per liter.

“The increase responds to the high volatility of the market and to geopolitical and climatic factors,” said Mario Mora, Energy Superintendent.

The new prices will take effect at the pumps one day after the publication, expected during the coming week, in the Official Gazette, La Gaceta, affecting consumers and productive sectors.

This increase in fuels could impact the cost of living and the operation of various productive sectors, which depend on the energy supply for their daily activities.

The Autoridad Reguladora de Servicios Publicos (Aresep) said it will continue to monitor the international situation and make adjustments to rates in accordance with market developments.
