Paseo Colon, San Jose
Looking east, the end of Paseo Colon that turns into pedestrian walkway, the Avenida Central, also known as the "bulevar" (boulevard), while vehicular traffic continues right onto Avenida Segunda. On the right of the photo is the Hospital San Juan de Dios, a 170 year old institution.

San Juan de Dios Turns 170
(QCOSTARICA) San Jose's most central hospital, the San Juan de Dios, kicked off its week-long 170th anniversary celebration with a "birthday party" in the Teatro Nacional (National Theatre).
Like any 170 year old, the hospital is a little creaky and seems to be tottering along as best it can.
