LAST MINUTE NEWS (5:10pm) — Globalvia, the concessionaire of the Ruta 27 (San José – Puntarenas) reported the closure of the highway at kilometre 38, in the area known as “Poncho Mora”, near Atenas.
Traffic is being diverted onto the “Monte del Aguacate” (the old road to Jacó).
The closure was necessary afte debris was strewn onto both lanes of the road, caused by the heavy rains Thursday afternoon.
Globavia notes that the highway before and after Atenas is open.
