With less than 10% of the votes counted, Johnny Araya of the PLN, with 33.22%, has a commanding lead over Luis Guillermo Solis of the PAC, with 25.4%.

José Maria Villalta of the Frente Amplio, has 17.73% and the Movimiento Libertario, Otto Guevara, has 11.75%, Following are is Rodolfo Piza, of the Partido Unidad Social Cristiana (PUSC), with 6.73%.

The foregoing are the results of the top five candidates, announced at 8:29pm by Luis Antonio Sobrado, president of the Tribunal Supremo de Elecciones (TSE).

Sobrado indicated that abstentionism is about 38%, over the 32% in the 2010 elections.
