Q COSTA RICA – Starting from June 19, Air France will be running five flights a week between Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) and Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) in their most up-to-date aircraft, the Airbus A-350.
With the upcoming busy season, Air France is increasing flights to meet the increasing demand, showing their constant growth in the country.
Diana Vargas, Air France and KLM Commercial Manager for Costa Rica and Central America, stated: “I am pleased to announce that, once again, we will increase our flights offer to meet market demand. As of June 19, Air France will operate 2 additional flights to offer 5 weekly flights San José-Paris-San José during the European summer season. This is equivalent to an increase in the offer of chairs of 67% compared to the summer of 2022.”
Air France will be operating flights from San José on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Flight AF431 heads out of San José at 7:35 pm and lands in Paris at 2:20 pm the next day; Flight AF430 departs Paris at 2:05 pm and gets into San José at 5:20 pm the same day. Hours in local time. Costa Rica’s Minister of Tourism William Rodríguez said that France is the top market in Europe for Costa Rican tourism in the first four months of 2023. The minister thanked Air France for their support and hoped that more people would visit Costa Rica which would help the economy.
Meanwhile, AERIS director Ricardo Hernández said the increased Air France flights means more connections from the San Jose Airport and a major European country.
In the first four months of this year, a total of 38,358 people visited Costa Rica from France.
Air France has the latest Airbus A-350 on its route to Costa Rica and it’s got a total of 324 seats: 34 in Business Class, 24 in Premium Economy, and 266 in Economy.
The A-350 comes with plenty of tech, uses 25% less fuel, emits 25% less CO2, and is 40% quieter. Air France reflects its commitment to the Tico market and the region.
