(QCOSTARICA) Many customers of the Banco Popular y de Desarrollo Comunal have complained of the ¢2.500 colones debit and without explanation, to their account.
According to the press office at the Popular, the debit is the annual service charge for credit/debit cards issued by the bank to its customers
The Popular, like the other state banks and even some private banks in Costa Rica, annually debit their customers for any plastic issued to their account. Some banks waive the service charge if the average account balance is over a certain amount.
