The Bomberos (Fire Deparment) ambulance, with air horn and sirens balsting wasted precious moments due to drivers not moving or attempting to move out of the way. May 18, 11:43am.Two minutes later (11:45am) the emergency vehicle had only moved half a block on Calle 1.Reaching its destination, on the pedestrian walkway of ‘bulevar’ at 11:48am, it turned out to be a false alarm.
Had it turned out to be a real emergency, the ambulance took 5 minutes to travel less than two blocks, first a Calle (Road) congested and second an Avenida (Avenue) with people that appeared upset that a vehicle was intruding on their pedestrian walkway.
