COSTA RICA NEWS – A small airplane with U.S.  “call letters” was seized Sunday on an airfield used for spraying, in Rancho Horizonte, Bebedero de Cañas, in Guanacaste.

The  Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ) report finding 400 kilograms of cocaina nd US$500.000 in cash.

Besides the drugs and cash, the OIJ in Cañas, working with members of hte Air Surveillance of the Ministry of Security, arrested four people alleged in the drug trafficking operation. Two others are still at large.

The OIJ says the airplane’s call letters N473EY are nonexistent.

The OIJ says it had been investigating the case for weeks. More details about the seizure are expected at Monday morning’s press conference.
