Check out “MiMejorCompraCR” and see how food prices stack up in Costa Rica

Q COSTA RICA – The Ministerio de Economía, Industria y Comercio (MEIC)- Ministry of Economy, Industry and Commerce –  with help from Grupo ICE, has just updated the MiMejorCompraCR price comparison tool between establishments and brands, for the food products most consumed by Costa Ricans.

At www.MiMejorCompraCR.go.cr you can check out prices in 175 businesses that were already monitored and four new cantons were included: Dota, Tarrazú and León Cortes (Los Santos area) and Sarapiquí, for a total of 50 cantons visited in the seven provinces.

You can use the tool to look up prices, brands, stores, and addresses based on what province, canton, product, or presentation you’re interested in. The application will show prices, brands, businesses, and addresses, from lowest to highest price.

From May 22nd to the 30th, they MEIC got info by talking to people in person and monitoring things online.
The tool they used lets folks compare prices in all 50 cantons for items like Soybean oil, rice, black and red beans, tuna, butter, salt, sugar, pasta, wheat flour, while corn flour, tortillas, fresh milk, powdered milk, cheese and meats.

You can use the tool on your computer and/or download the application at www.mimejorcompraCR.go.cr, for any Android or iOS (Apple) device.
