The dollar exchange rose ¢10.61 in the last week. The dollar exchange as set by the Banco Central de Costa Rica (BBCR), the Mercado de Monedas Extranjeras (Monex) closed yesterday at ¢519.12.
This level is the highest since November 2010.

Rodrigo Bolaños, president of the Banco Cental, warned last week that there would be an appreciation in the exchange rate this year. The main reason, he stressed is the decrease of economic stimulus by the U.S. Federal Reserve.
Yesterday, at the Monex US$17.6 million dollars was traded in 262 transactions.
