(QCOSTARICA) The Poder Judicial has enabled a free and confidential hotline to receive complaints of corruption within the judicial branch.
The Confidential Information Centre (CICO) of Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ) will receive calls at:800 8000 645 or by email at: cicooij@poder-judicial.go.cr
Zarla Villanuewa, president of the Supreme Court stated, “The intention is to detect any abnormalities, to take timely corrective actions to ensure transparency in all judicial processes.”
She added: “All information received at the free hotline will be processed and responded to with the utmost seriousness and confidentiality.”
The initiative came in the Commission Against Organized Crime and Drug Trafficking (Comisión Contra el Crimen Organizado y el Narcotráfico), which dismissed the penetration of organized crime in the judiciary and recommended actions to prevent it from occurring.
