COSTA RICA NEWS -With almost a kilo of cocaine hidden inside his body, a 33 year old Italian man tried to evade Costa Rica’s drug enforcement police at the Juan Santamaría airport, on his way to Europe.

The Policía de Control de Drogas (PCD) said they observed the mam who was heade for Europe, with a final destination of Rome in his home country. PCD officials say his behaviour, getting all nervous and with attitude, led them to suspect him. On inspection, they he had swallowed some 120 “ovulos” (ovum) that contained in total 898 grams of cocaine.

The man is the first “mule” by the current airport administration and will now face a trial in Costa Rica for international drug trafficking, which he could face up to eight years in jail.
