QCOSTARICA – For the second month in a row we are seeing a whopping drop in gasoline prices, while diesel keeps going up.

On Monday, the Autoridad Reguladora de los Servicios Públicos (Aresep) – regulating authority of public prices and service – approved a drop of ¢72 colones for a litre of super and ¢63 for regular gasoline.

In contrast, users of diesel will pay ¢7 colones more per litre.

The price drop takes effect the day following the publication in the official government newsletter, La Gaceta, expected before the end of this week.

Aresep spokeswoman, Arlene Raventos, explained the price change is in response to continuing drops in international fuel price.
