COSTA RICA EXTRA (By Roberto Acuña Ávalos, Vozdeguanacaste.com)In terms of beautiful women, Nosara (Costa Rica) could easily be ranked #1, which is why the Nosara Integral Development Association (ADIN – Asociacion de Desarrollo Integral de Nosara) is looking for the most beautiful young woman in the community.

Jacqueline Alvarado was crowned Miss Nosara in 2011, which was the last year that someone older than age 15 was crowned.

The 2015 Señorita Nosara contest seeks to elect the queen of the district’s fiestas and a worthy representative of Nosara’s femenine beauty.

According to Haylen Noguera, a member of ADIN’s pageant commission, the participants must be between 15 and 22 years old.

“The contest used to be for girls, but now we want them to be young women. What we want is for [the queen] to be a self-confident person who is willing to help with the community’s social causes,” commented Noguera.

The women’s attributes and qualities count for half of the decision, while the other half will be based on the number of sponsors they obtain. For now, the event’s date has not been set, but the goal is to have it in January.

Noguera explained that the prize for the queen has still not been set. However, it will include photo sessions and surf and horsemanship classes. In addition to the queen, the most photogenic, pleasant and friendly young woman will also receive a prize.

Those looking to join the contest can register by calling Rocio Navarrete at 8430-8959 or Haylen Noguera at 8612-2100. Minors must have their parents’ permission to participate.
