COSTA RICA NEWS – Social service work will be compulsory for medical specialists, according to a bill that was approved in first debate Wednesday by Legislators.
The Comisión Plena Primera, unanimously, voted in favour of the initiative to reform the law of the Caja Costarricense del Seguro Social (CCSS) – Costa Rica’s Social Security.
The work to be carried out by doctors will be paid, explained legislator for the Frenta Amplio, Edgardo Araya.
The Ministry of Health will determine each year which specialties and subspecialties are required for local and regional coverage.
