COSTA RICA EXTRA – Ricardo Chan, 21, is the winner of the 2014 edition of  Mr. Universitario (Mr. University).  The advertising design student was crowned at the San José Palacio Friday night.

From Alajuela, Chan played a prominent role on the runway gala, bathing suit, national costume and the opening gladiators show.

First runner up was Bernal Alvarado, 18. Finishing third was Elder Arguedas,

Steven Guzman won the position of Mr. Popularity, voted on the contest’s Facebook page. Meanwhile, Chan was honored as Mr. Photogenic.

Nine finalists competed in the finals, after working six months on their modeling, photography, fashion and other skilLs needed to succeed in the pageant.
