QCOSTARICA – The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) will hand over its Economic Assessment of Costa Rica, discussing the country’s recent performance, which has brought about strong growth, rising living standards and the sustainable use of natural resources.
The Assessment, to be published on Monday February 15, analyses the current challenges Costa Rica is facing and looks at how policy and institutional reforms can contribute to stronger and more inclusive growth in the future.
OECD Secretary-General Angel GurrĂa will present the Assessment to President of Costa Rica Luis Guillermo SolĂs during a press conference starting at 3:00pm Monday. Gurria and SolĂs will also discuss the process for Costa Rica’s accession to the OECD, which was launched formally in July 2015.
The Assessment will be available to press at 9:00pm Monday. An Overview of the Economic Assessment, with the main conclusions, will be freely accessible on the OECD’s web site at: http://www.oecd.org/eco/surveys/economic-survey-costa-rica.htm.
