Keeping in style, Jimenez said he did not lie about offering former deputy minister of telecommunications, Allan Ruiz, an ambassador ship in return for his resignation over the “gag law” – the draft bill on radio and television – scandal.

According to Jimenez it was Ruiz who lied.

Deja vu? We got the same line from the minister in the case of former deputy ministro de la presidencia, Daniel Soley, a few months back.

Jimenez added that for now he will continue as minister, his future in the post is up President Solis.

For hist part, President Solis insists that he is evaluating the work of all members of his cabinet as part of his preparations for his annual report to the Legislative Assembly that is due on May 1.
