QCOSTARICA – Air Costa Rica may be soon taking off with their service from San José’s international airport to Panama City (Panama), Managua (Nicaragua) and Miami (USA).
According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (Dirección General de Aviación Civil), the airline will be certified and ready to start operations in the country within a month.
Aviacion head, Álvaro Vargas, explained the airline is in the final review of phase 3 of the process, which involves approving documents such as operations manual, maintenance programs, and dangerous goods handling, among others.
After that will go to Phase 4, the last in the process, consisting of the demonstration flight and equipment, said Vargas.
Director Vargas said last December the company earlier had pilots being trained in Miami, and mechanic in Panama.
The initial destinations of the new Costa Rican airline would Panama City, Managua and Miami said Vargas.
Air Costa Rica is the trade name of Ticas Airlines, a division of Air Panama with Costa Rican investors.
