Faced with an unprecedented political situation, a presidential candidate “withdrawing” from a presidential campaign, Presidenta Laura Chinchilla, said she spoke to both PAC candidate, Luis Guillermo Solís and PLN’s Johnny Araya, and asked them to  “intensify talks” on relevant topics to ensure a “positive transition”.

The Presidenta said that the purpose of her request of the candidates is for the best for the country to move forward afer the April 6 elections.

Chinchilla called on “frank and open” discussion on the issues.

The Presidenta noted that her government will continue to ensure support for the electoral authorities for that the upcoming elections take place without any problems.

The Presidenta reaffirmed that the attitude of her administration has been fully open to representatives of all political parties.
