COSTA RICA NEWS – A six year old boy shot and killed his 16 year old baby sitter in Colinas de Buenos Aires de Puntarenas.
This was confirmed by the press office of the Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ), who said, apparently the gun belonged to the boy’s father.
The young girl, who had been working with the family only one month, was shot in the stomach and rushed to hospital by neighbours, but died in hospital moments after her arrival.
Leidy Sáenz Madrigal, mother of the dead girl, said her daugther was working in a house only one block away. The woman said she was shocked when the young boy came running to the house to tell her the news of her daughter.
“Your daughter is dead”, said the young boy to Leidy who could not believe that she had just heard. Leidy said she did not have the courage to go see what had happened, so she sent one of her other daugthers.
At the time of the shooting, it was only the young boy and the babysitter in the house. The boy’s parents were working at the time.
The OIJ said it was still investigating what really happened.
