QCOSTARICA – In the it seems made up but true department, a woman driving a Toyota Sequoia on Thursday caused a five car pileup on the highway into San Jose, near the Radisson hotel.

The woman told the other drivers and the Transito (traffic official) that the heel of high heels (tacones in Spanish) got tangled between the brake and gas pedals, causing her to lose control and crash into the other vehicles. (The Sequoia imported in Costa Rica is an automatic.)

The four vehicles ahead of her, after bouncing off each other in a domino effect, only suffered minor damages and no personal injuries were reported.

Transito Harry Palma told the DiarioExtra that all the vehicles had their papers in order and that alcohol was not involved in the accident,.
