Berasategui earned his seven Michelin stars with Lasarte, in the Basque province of Guipuzcoa (3); Lasarte in Barcelona (2); and MB, in Tenerife, Canary Islands, (2).

“The best way to keep the stars is to make sure more are coming in future years,” the Basque chef said, adding that his recipe for success was a blend of “humility, enthusiasm, dedication, team, perfection and imagination.”

“You can’t be scared or lazy or embarrassed,” the chef, who will soon make the jump to television under a deal with Mediaset España, said. EFE
