The U.S. coffee chain, Starbucks, continues its expansion in Costa Rica with a fourth store location in March.

The new store will be Plaza Freses, in Curridabat, on the east side of San José. No opening date has been set, the company is already hiring staff.

Starbucks opened its first in Costa Rica back in May 2012, in the upscale commercial centre, Avenida Escazú. The lines during the first week of opening spilled over onto the street. Starbucks followed up with a second location in Lincoln Plaza in November of 2012 and the third opening last September, in Distrito 4, also in Escazú.

The arrival of Starbucks in Costa Rica also spurred interest from Colombia’s Juan valdéz chain of coffee shops. Juan Valdéz and Starbucks are waging their battle in Colombia with the announcement late last year by Starbucks to incurse into Colombian territory dominated by the Juan Valdéz chain.
