This Sunday a baby dolphin was found stranded on the beach in an area of Playa Hermosa, Puntarenas (south of Jacó).
Locals walking the beach and finding the young animal called authorities to help rescue it.
According to the Fuerza Publica (police) report, the animal did not have any wounds and in stable condition although scared and disoriented.
A veterinarian was called to examine to the animal before being released.
Police say that such situations are not common in the area.
