QCOSTARICA EXTRA – From the social media, the initial verdicts of Star Wars: The Force Awakens suggest ‘overwhelming experience’, from the smiling faces of the crowds exiting the Los Angeles premiere on Monday night. Amongst these, presumably, were Disney executives ecstatic that the $4billion dollars they paid George Lucas for franchise rights looks to have been a sound investment.

Initial reactions from all three screening rooms where the film was shown for the first time – as well as from social media – suggest that JJ Abrams has the chops to please both critics and fans, and that The Force Awakens may well recoup at least half the $4bn by itself.

The movie debuts in Costa Rica on Thursday, December 17, the first showing at 12:05am at the Cinemark Multiplaza Escazu and Multiplaza Curridabat (Zapote); at the Cinepolis in Desamaparados, Terramall (Tres Rios), Paseo de las Flores (Heredia), Lincoln Plaza (Moravia) and Metropoli in Cartago.in 2D-Digital. Later showings include options for RealD-3D.

Pre-sale tickets can be purchased online (Cinemarkca.com or Cinepolis.co.cr) or a the box office.

When purchasing your ticket make sure you want the right choice of movie “doblada” (dubbed) or “subtitulada” (subtitled) to avoid disappointment.
