Once again the Tribunal Supremo de Elecciones (TSE) in investigating presidential candidate Johnny Araya for election irregularities, this time for violating the year-end “no politicking” rule.
The TSE says it has received some 10 complaints on its 800-ELECTOR hotline, for the message broadcast on national television Wendeday night by the Partido Liberación Nacional (PLN) candidate.
According to the TSE Araya aired more than three messages permitted during the year-end holiday period that ends on Sunday, January 5.
The TSE says it has received more than 20 complaints for various irregualitires committed by presidetial candidates, but only the Araya complaint is being investigated and the appropriate sanction will be issued against the candidate if found in violation of the Electoral Code.
