swift_newdsrQCOSTARICA – Uber has a new strategy to integrate its service in Costa Rica, making strategic alliances with national companies for drivers to buy a new car and discounts on car repairs.

As to new car purchases, Uber has made a deal with Distrito Automotriz, the Suzuki franchisee in the country, for easy financing on the purchase of new vehicles by Uber drivers.

Under the deal, Uber drivers (the company calls them “partners”) can lease, with the option to buy, a new Swift Dzire or Ciaz, with no money down and easy payments.

The restrictions are that buyers have to be between 30 and 60 years of age, willingness to work full-time, have a valid driver’s license, no criminal record and a decent driving record.

The other deal is with CarrocerĂa y Pintura La Uruca, where Uber drivers can obtain a 15% discount on vehicle repair and body work.

Uber is also reported in search of a financial deal with a national insurance company, among others.
