Q COSTA RICA – We’re in for a wet Friday as Tropical Wave No. 4 will reinforce rainy conditions in a large part of the country this Friday, and possibly into the weekend, confirmed the national weather service, the Instituto Meteorológico Nacional (IMN).

It all started with Tropical Wave No. 3 on Wednesday, which caused some serious issues in a number of areas, especially in the Cambronero sector of the Ruta 1, the same sector where a landslide resulted in the death of nine people last September.

For prevention, the part road has been closed.

The Atlantic Hurricane Season started this Thursday and we can expect 12 cyclones, 7 of which will become hurricanes.

The official IMN weather forecast for this Friday, June 02, 2023:

The transit of tropical wave #4 and the proximity of the Intertropical Convergence Zone will favor ideal conditions for the presence of cloudiness and rain this Friday morning in the Pacific coastal areas. The rainy and electrical activity will manifest itself during the afternoon, starting in mountainous sectors of the North Zone and the Caribbean, then it will spread to neighboring areas of the Central Valley. On the other hand, in the Pacific, the precipitations will appear from mid-afternoon and can last until the early hours of the night.
