COSTA RICA NEWS — From a statement issued by the Chamber of Commerce of Costa Rica:
The Chamber of Commerce and the General Department of Customs have signed an agreement for exchange of information and monitoring of imports in order to control the illegal transit of goods.
The Cámara de Comercio de Costa Rica(CCCR) – Chamber of Commerce of Costa Rica – – and the Dirección General de Aduanas (DGA) – General Department of Customs – this week signed an Agreement for Cooperation Trade Transparency in order to combat all unfair practices in trade, such as smuggling, counterfeiting and other illegal practices.
Cooperation will be based on the exchange of business information, training of customs staff and identifying hazardous operations for the commercial sector, in order to strengthen the correct payment of taxes; the entry and exit of goods from legal territory; and marketing in the domestic market.
