COSTA RICA NEWS — Amazon Support Services Costa Rica is hiring an additional 1.000 people to fill positions in the new “Seller Support Center”, a software development unit that will support Amazon marketers worldwide, inaugurated Wednesday morning.

The new jobs will to the current staff of 2.100 Amazon has in Costa Rica, located in Calle Blanos (San José) and Lagunilla (Heredia).

“It (the talent) is what opens the door for more companies to continue investing in the country. This demonstrates that we are highly competitive and that our country is one of the safest places to invest,” said President Luis Guillermo Solís, who participated in the inauguration event.

Meanwhile, Scott Kubicki, Amazon’s VP Global Seller Support said they appreciate the fact that national authorities support the arrival and stay of Amazon in the country.

Kubicki added that Amazon hopes to generate in the near future more employment and investment in the country.
