QCOSTARICA – 5:23 pm – Air Surveillance (Vigilancia Aérea) reports a number of flights cancelled or delayed due to the fall out the Turrialba eruptions today.

The airports affected are the Juan Santamaria (SJO) in Alajuela and Tobia Bolaños in Pavas,  San José since the alert at 4:30 pm.

Up to four flights, two from Avianca and two from Copa, to the Liberia airport, according to Silvia Chaves, Aeris communications chief.

The reopening of the airport terminals depend on the situation and improvements in visibility conditions.
