The mid-year school vacation is on, as public schools close and many take off work for the two weeks, the country returning to normalcy on Monday, July 15.

In the coming two weeks of the “Vacaciones de medio año” (July 1 to 12) you can expect:

- Advertisement -
    • Lighter than usual traffic in the greater metropolitan area of San Jose
    • No vehicular restrictions of San Jose
    • Heavy traffic on routes leading to the beaches and resorts
    • Traffic police checkpoints with emphasis on driving and driving and speeding.

Last year 23 people died and  615 people injured on the roads during the mid-year school break in a total of  3,215 traffic accidents. Don’t be a statistic.

If you are heading to an appointment, say a doctor or dentist, call ahead first to make the office is open during the holidays.
