QCOSTARICA – Elena Marbelly Prado Elizondo, a fugitive from justice in Costa Rica, wanted by the judicial authorities of Costa Rica for prosecution / to serve a sentence where she must answer for five crimes, is one of 49 Costa Ricans on the Interpol wanted list.
The Costa Rica woman was denounced by her former husband, Roy Valverde, for taking out the country their daughter, first to Panama and then to Portugal, though the father had custody.
Elena is accused of child abduction, aggravated child abduction, use of false documents, disobeying a court order and falsifying.
In Portugal, authorities there had Elene located in Lisbon, ready to detain her as soon as they are in possession of the court order by a Portugal court that also orders the return the child to Costa Rica, according to Jose Cabrera, Roy Valverde’s lawyer.
The case began in April 2014 when Roy Valverde sought a court order to and on May 5, 2014 obtained custody of the child.
The 34 year old Elena is one 106 people on the Interpol list wanted by Costa Rica.
