COSTA RICA NEWS – Nearly 80% of mobile telephony users in Gran Area Metropolitana (GAM) – greater metropolitan area of SanJosé – own a smartphone, reports El Financiero reports.
According o the UNIMER study, taking in the repsonse of 800 people between 12 and 75 years of age, last June, six in ten smartphone users in the GAM use the device to connect to internet at least once a day.
Samsung is the top in mobile devices with 40% of the users, followed by Nokai (20%) and Apple (10%). Following are devices by Sony, Ericsson and Huawei.
Most users connect with Kolbi (ICE) , and the worst rated by service users, followed by Movistar and Claro.
The GAM is the largest urban agglomeration in Costa Rica, comprising areas of high population density surrounding the capital city.
