Autopista General Cañas will be closed nightly in the direction of Alajuela and San Jose.
Autopista General Cañas will be closed nightly in the direction of Alajuela and San Jose.

QCOSTARICA – From Monday night (March 14) and every night this week until Friday (March 18), the autopista General Cañas from Alajuela to San Jose will be closed.

The closure starts at 10:00pm and continues to 5:00am from the Juan Santamaria (San Jose) airport to the La Uruca, confirmed the manager of road conservation, Cristian Vargas.

The closure is to allow cleaning and trimming and uprooting of trees abutting the autopista.

Traffic from San Jose to Alajuela is not affected.

Alternate routes from the airport to San Jose is by Heredia and the Ruta 27.
