QCOSTARICA – Costa Rica’s Policia de Migracion (Immigration Police) expelled a Nicaraguan national on Friday, after completing a full prison sentence in Costa Rica, for six offences of sexual abuse against a minor.

In addition, the 39 year-old man, identified by him surnames, Alvarado Ray, cannot return to Costa Rica for 25 years. The immigration service also cancelled his permanent residency in the country.

The expulsion is governed by the Ley General de Migración y Extranjería N°8764 (General Law of Immigration).

The Nicaraguan was taken to the Peñas Blancas (land border with Nicaragua), where he was handed over to Nicaragua’s immigration authorities.
