COSTA RICA BUSINESS NEWSS – There is a growing trend in appliances stores and department stores to set up large format stores offering a better buying experience with “everything in one place.”

This format allows to the diversification and expansion of the supply of products mainly in middle and upper middle income levels, especially in areas with high population density, which allows consumers to buy more conveniently and for stores to generate more revenue.

The marketer Antonio Jimenez told Elfinancierocr.com that “… This trend aims to generate consumer traffic, and with a range that creates the opportunity to generate a different income stream. That is to say, it can represent not only a boost to the commercial image, but also more income. There is a tendency to back the strategy targeting the management category, which consists in each format being economically self-sufficient, that is, it has to be profitable. ”

Allan CedeƱo, president of the Ekono chain, added “… The format conceptualizes the ‘all in one place’ shopping experience and can incorporate strategic business partners. However, you have to be careful because megastores are not the solution for such a small country with a medium density of population. Therefore, using this format will depend, among other thigns, on the data that comes from the market study. ”
