QCOSTARICA – In September the consumer price index recorded a decrease of 0.26%, placing inter annual inflation at -0.86% and accumulated inflation at -0.70% so far this year.
In September 2015, of the 315 goods and services included in the consumer basket, 47% saw price increases, 42% fell in price and 11% did not change.
When analyzing the percentage changes of the twelve groups that make up the index, it can been seen that the transport group is having a major negative effect on the index’s variation in general.
In the last five years (2011 to 2015) the largest percentage variation accumulated from January to September of each year was 2014 with 5.30%, while the lowest was that of 2015 with a negative change of -0 70%
