Four motorcyclists lost their lives in two days -Saturday and Sunday - on Costa Rica's roads.
Four motorcyclists lost their lives in two days -Saturday and Sunday – on Costa Rica’s roads.

The first few days of the Semana Santa has already recorded 12 death and 29 others attended to by Cruz Roja (Red Cross) due to traffic accidents and violence involing a knives and firearms.

According to the Cruz Roja, the major cause of fatalities between Friday and Sunday was traffic accidents.

Saturday and Sunday alone four motorcyclists were killed on the roads.

The worst is yet to come.

Although the exodus from the cities to the beaches and resorts was great given that Friday was a national holiday, many getting the jump on Semana Santa, the most intense period starts on Wednesday when the country shuts down for the national holidays of Thursday and Friday, meaning more vacationers on the roads.
