The Government of Panama, in alliance with Air Panama is offering special packages for Costa Ricans to visit their country

(QCOSTARICA) The Government of Panama, in alliance with Air Panama, has launched a promotion offering special packages for Costa Ricans to visit their country.

Packages include 3 days, 2 nights, airfare, taxes, hotel, breakfast and transfers from US$339 for the city and US$489 for the beach. A city/beach combination of 4 days, 3 nights starts at US$507.

Panama’s Deputy Minister of Tourism, Jennifer Champsaur, explained that 170,000 tourists entered the country from Costa Rica by way of land border crossings and 60,000 by air.

The campaign, “Panamá lo tiene todo” (Panama has it all) is aimed at wooing Costa Ricans to visit their neighbour to the south.

The Panamanian tourism authority, Autoridad de Turismo de Panamá (ATP), will invest in advertising through Google and Facebook, said Champsaur.

In Costa Rica, the packages will be available through Desafíos Travel and Tours and DestinosTV.

More information can be obtained at www.panamalotienetodo.cr.

The flights will be by Air Panama that begins operations in Costa Rica on July 1.

The airline will fly daily direct from the Juan Santamaria airport in San Jose (SJO) to the Albrook airport located near Panama City center.  (This is not to be confused with the Tocumen international airport some 30 minutes from Panama City).

The flight leaves Costa Rica at 1:00pm, arriving in Panama City at noon, said Air Panama manager of marketing, Ursula Kiener.

Editor’s note: The promo is not restricted to Costa Rican, rather available to anyone flying from Costa Rica to Panama.
