COSTA RICA NEWS – The Fuerza Pública (police) are asking for seriousness on the part of the public in the disappearance of six year old Yerelin Guzmán, that has been missing since Friday afternoon.
On Tuesday the intensive search continued but did not result in locating the little girl. At the break of dawn (5:30am) this morning, police have doubled their manpower involved in the search.
Calls keep pouring into the 911 emergency service. However, many are believed to be false.
The ministerio de Seguridad Publica (MSP) is asking the public to call only if they have real information, not to waste police resources.
“We have no way of knowing if the call is real or false; ultimately the operator is the person determining if police are to be mobilized,” said Carlos Hidalgo, head of the press for the MSP.
Suspected of kidnapping the little girl is a cousin of the girl’s father who has a history of abuse and who is currently in police custody, but denying taking the girl. The man is being held on accusations of molesting two brothers, also minors, of the little girl.
