COSTA RICA NEWS – The heavy rains of Friday caused serious flash floods around many parts of San José, leading to a traffic nightmare and one person trapped in a sewer.

Reports indicate that the person slipped and fell into an open storm sewer manhole, in the area of Barrio Mexico, which overflowed due to the volumes of water from the rains.

The Bomberos (firef department) were able to rescue the person, whose name was not released to the press, did not suffer any major injuries.
