By Roberto Acuña Ávalos, Voz de Guanacaste – Locating a specific place along Nosara’s beaches is a complicated task for the police, Red Cross, and volunteer firefighters in emergency cases. That is why, since the beginning of April, signs have been installed in part of the area in Playa Guiones known as the American Project.

According to Agnes Pinheiro, a member of the Nosara Security Association, they installed some 20 signs along route 160, stretching from the R section to the Yoga Institute.

“The signs will help us respond to emergencies, as we’ll be able to locate the problem easier and faster,” explained Pinheiro.

The signs indicate the sections of the project and are accompanied by the police department’s phone number.

The signage was donated by the Nosara Civic Association and cost approximately $1,600. Their installation was a collaborative effort between the firefighters and members of the Security Association.

Pinheiro guarantees that the plan is to post signage for the entire project. However, the high cost of the signs has impeded progress.
