Carlos Vargas, head of taxation, said typically there are three reasons for the closure of a business: late payments of the sales tax, filing tax declarations late and not filing invoices/receipts.
If you own a business in Costa Rica, be it a small enterprise or self employed, it is recommended consulting a certified public accountant of your tax obligations and payments.
