COSTA RICA – They went farther than any other national team, reaching the quarter-final, faced three World Cup champions, went five games unbeaten. But in the end, the penalty shoot-out lottery did them in.
Costa Rica very nearly proved everyone wrong once again, playing our 120 minutes of solid football, holding the Netherlands scoreless.
