U.S. President Barack Obama showed his Spanish during the press conference Friday afternon at Centro Nacional de la Cultura (CENAC) – Natural Cultural Centre – in San José.
Obama opened his speech with a “good afternoon”, highlighted the qualites of Ticos and mentioned the Costa Rican tourism slogan, “Costa Rica, no artificial ingredients”.
But, the show stopper were Obama’s closing remarks, when in pure ticolandia told his audience, “Pura Vida, muchas gracias”.
All that was missing of Obama to be considered a real Tico, was “Mae”.
